Just picked up my K-1 from Harvey Studios in Fredericton - I only ordered it last Friday!

Small dealers in Canada are getting stock (direct from Pentax) within 7 days of an order at the moment! Henry's told me 10 days+ if I wanted to order one from them as they are on back-order.

Also if you are in the Fredericton area (or within driving range - I live 1 1/2 hours away), there is a second one in the display case at Harvey studios (I was tempted, but the wife said only one).

Cool! I really want to get one - 6 months ago I really thought I'd be buying one shortly after launch. Money's gotten a bit tighter so it looks like I won't be any time soon. I keep meaning to check if they have any in at Henry's, here in Ottawa.

I checked last week. The guy at Henry's on Hunt Club and Merrivale said they probably have them in stock in the central office, but likely won't get them on site

they are all on back order within mississauga, oakville, and burlington.
i've waited long enough. i think i can wait just a bit longer to buy it from stock when its available.

Well, I could resist no longer. A fool and his tax refund are soon parted. I ordered a K-1 from one of our local bricks and mortar camera stores (Newfoundland Camera Imaging) even though they carry no Pentax gear nowadays. I ordered it on May 13th and it arrived on May 30th (10 business days because of the Victoria Day holiday). So, it looks like demand in Canada is not yet outstripping supply like it is in the U.S. I think manufacturers in general usually overestimate demand in Canada compared to the US.

Is any one in the metro St. John's area interested in a K-3 with fewer than 7,000 shutter actuations? jgnfld? pathdoc?

The demand seems to be there. The local London Drugs got mine to me the first week of May and they have sold two more since then. The sales staff says that the Japan earthquake has slowed down all camera supply deliveries, but perhaps less so with Pentax given its Phillipines and Vietnam centres.
