While I am still (impatiently) waiting for my k1, I noticed that so far nobody tested it with some of the 645 lenses ... (or am I wrong ? )

From my past experience with 645 lenses on a K3 and a Canon 5D2, I would expect several of them (35mm, 55mm, 120mm macro) to be superb. The new 645 28-45 is exemplary in performance but too heavy and not cost effective for use with the K1.

I usually work with Pentax MF (now with 645Z ) ; I like so much Pentax that I decided without any doubt to get the k-1 but I would hope not to invest a bag of money in new glasses (I just own the 50 and 100 macro WR).... I frankly expect Pentax will give us , sooner or later, a new adapter to mount the 645 lenses on K-1, including AF ....
Btw me too I have tested the 645 lenses on Canon 5dmk3 and on Sony A7r2 ; I found quite good the FA 120 macro and I was wondering how it will perform on K-1.

Is the adapter available yet? I do not own any 645 glass, but some of it can be picked up at nice prices.

Is the old manual adapter no longer available, or is there a new version expected?

Excellent

I tried on k-1 a couple of my old 645 lenses : 120 mm macro, and 150mm ( with the Pentax adapter fm 645 to K ) and also a glorious Hassy 150 mm (fotodiox adapter ring) .... The result is generally excellent but finding a perfect focus by hand is not a breeze ; I found it hard to be set by viewfinder and impossible by LV. So better using a tripod and possibly also a LCD magnifier (I used the LCD VF mounted on my 645Z) ...
I hope in a new ring from Pentax which could allow the full use of the AF ...

PS
I have seen on Ebay the original Pentax adapter 645 to K but is not so cheap......
give a look

I believe the K-1 has the contacts to make AF work if you look closely at the mount. Almost no one talks about this but I do expect a new adapter ring with AF functionality. Maybe someone in the know could chime in, Adam?
