Near Full Frame Performance of 70mm f2.4 Limited on K-1

Very surprising results. Only slight vignetting from the 70mm Limited when shot as a FF lens on the K-1.

That looks great! What about focused at infinity and nearest focus? Just to test the extremes, as image circle can change depending on focus
Encouraging results, and great photo

I've seen the DA 70mm used on film by several people. It's basically a 35mm coverage lens.

Was the hood on and extended?

Hi Darryl,

I am a big fan of this lens and hope to keep making regular use of it on a K-1 when I finally get one. I'd be keen on knowing more about the vignetting at different focal lengths as Na Horuk has asked and whether the hood was on or off and if the hood was on if it was extended or retracted.

I will check this for myself anyway but would be interested if you can expand on the hood set up for this image and any other examples you might be preared to share.

Oh, lovely horses BTW, they look like racing thoroughbreds, not that I'd really know.

The lens hood was extended on all shots that I took. The lens performed very well all the way through the f stop range. The one below was taken at f10 with very little vignetting. The shot of the horses above was at f3.5.

How does it perform at f/2.4?

Thanks.

There is slightly more vignetting, but acceptable in my opinion.

Thank you!

70mm ltd is one of my favorites, I feel relieved knowing that it can be used with K1.

Thanks for the feedback Darryl, I'll be going to the Australian launch in Sydney tonight, that'll be the closest I get to one for now, but it is encouraging to see that even if a wider hood won't help the vignetting should be easily addressed in PP. Now I just need to get myselif a K-1 too.
