Pentax K-1's Pixel Shift challenges medium-format dynamic range

Pentax K-1's Pixel Shift challenges medium-format dynamic range: Digital Photography Review

This is going to be a great camera for those who photograph interiors and exteriors for builders, architects, & designers.

Now where is that ultra-wide prime and the tilt-shift to really make this the perfect setup for architectural photography?

Nah, push the boat out and go with the Schneider Kreuznach PC-TS 4.5/28. It's only US$10,327.00 and the great thing is it comes in K-mount!

I've been banging on about how pixel shift should able to push the measured results for a while now, good to see it finally be tested properly. It's not 4x the same data, its 4x the data period, the results are better then the noise/DR improvements alone imo.

I think for $10k, you can have almost any tilt-shift lens adapted for K-mount... just not by the manufacturer.

Still... mmmm, Schneider!

I shot with a FA20mm (~ 14mm equivalent on crop camera) this weekend. The UWA is already here.

It sure is nice to read DPR comments about the K-1 (and even K-3 models) without dealing with their traditional 'yes-but' reviewing style. Not long ago they only had to type about body color or LEDs to get a laugh - but Pentax has the last laugh with the K-1 non-flashing LEDs

as expected, k-1 noise profile is clean, it's really impressive, thx for the link winder.

less impressive is all the ignorant trolling about k-mount lenses in the comment section, lol
