I would really like this guy for a trip to NYC in early July.
Do you think it will be shipping by then?

If you order now, I don't see what not? (You're best off checking with the dealer though!). 6 weeks seems more than enough time (id imagine more people pre-ordered than have ordered since release, but I could be wrong though)

Should be quite likely. B&H's last shipment went out on 5/9, and I'm sure they're about to get more soon.

local stores here are expecting more by end of next week, shouldn't be a problem

My local store had one on the shelf for sale yesterday.

I pre-ordered 4/16 on line and the major Dealer told me May 6th my place in line put me in the early July shipments.

There seem to be ones and twos in B&M stores all over. You just have to find them.

I ordered mine on May 2nd. Called them a day or two later and I was told that the chances are I will get my K1 early June. But no way to know for sure. I suppose they have the info as far as how many orders they have and how many they are going to get and when. But as you know they are not going to share any of that info.

Place the order immediately anyway. They will not charge you until the item ships. You can always cancel if you change your mind or find it elsewhere sooner.

I also suggest you place your order now. You just never know what could happen. I was quite surprised when I bought a back-ordered K1 on May 9th and it was shipped out the 10th. I even emailed Adorama, thinking it was a computer glitch, or, something. Nope, it arrived in fine shape today.

Here's fingers crossed that your order arrives soon. The 15-30 mm looks good! I saw real life examples on a U.K. site.
Wish I had the funds for the D810, but, all tapped out now

Don't get me wrong...the D810 is the best camera I have ever owned. But the K-1 has a few things that put it over the edge to me, including using the FA limiteds and the tilting LCD. PS could be one of those things, but honestly I am still on the fence how useful it really would be in my type of shooting.
