Yeah, I noticed that too. Funny thing is, apart from not overpraising the AF, their review of the K-1 was very positive. In fact, the warning was the only thing I didn't agree with.

I guess they've been burnt by a vocal minority amongst the pentax fanbase. It's too bad really, I've never seen this "zealous anger" of which they speak.

That's another possibility, of course. But if you have to explain a joke, it isn't funny. And I'm not alone in not getting it.

It is a fair review, although didn't provide much information. But the warning is disturbing.

I don't have the feeling it is a joke. I really think that some to enthousiast Pentaxians are rude on different places on the internet towards people saying something about Pentax that they don't like. Calling people an idiot, calling people trolling for just not liking comments, questioning peoples knowledge if they state something they don't like.

It is disturbing because if you want your community to grow it needs to be one that is fun to be with and join.

I've very rarely come across comments from "Pentaxians" on various photo blogs that I'd consider particularly trollish. Where are you seeing these? On the contrary it's somewhat common to see incorrect info posted as fact, or sometimes even downright made-up FUD written by Canikon/Mirrorless users when Pentax is mentioned. IMHO the rudeness issue, if it exists, is not originating from the Pentax side in most of the instances I've come across on sites like dpreview.

In the case of this particular review I think they're just having a bit of fun with the Pentax crowd.

^^^ But I did feel it was a bit of an 'ethnic' joke, like Irish jokes or Polish jokes. Why do they feel compelled to turn using a Pentax camera into a joke? It might have been funny to the rest of the camera world but I felt it was in poor taste.

This is not the first time they have made 'jokes' like this and I felt they were unnecessary in a 'professional' review. But maybe they pick on Nikon and Sony and Canon the same way, I've no idea. Or maybe they think it increases their click rate.

I found it quite nice since I thought "Oh no! What did they discover?" and was awaiting something horrible only to find that there wasn't anything negative to write home about. Made the whole review better
