DA 50mm f1.8 on K-1

I've seen suggestions that this wonderful little lens will actually work on the K-1 (albeit possibly not wide open). Has anyone actually tried it? There are no shots in Pentax's K-1 lab galleries yet, although the DA35 has a couple of entries and they look pretty damn good!

They have two pics now at F11 and F5.6. Look fine to me.

Ha! Thanks for pointing those out - they've clearly gone up in the last couple of days

They should put some at f/1.8, f/2, f/2.8 and f/4 up. I mean, that's the point of the 'lab', isn't it? Give people material to evaluate which lenses work on FF and how well they work, not just to show the lens' sweet spot.

Eh, I don't really see that lab as a very good move by Ricoh.

I think Adam tried the DA 50mm on the K-1 and said its decent, the corners are covered, but the edges do have slightly more vignetting. He didn't put up an official review, though.
Hm, and did you check the DA 50mm in the DA lenses on FF test shots thread? Just search for that thread title and then search the thread.

Edit: here is the thread: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/54-pentax-lens-articles/31629-da-lenses-f...ts-thread.html

It vignettes a little, but all very even and correctable. I don't even worry about it. Here are some quick shots of a wall at 1.8, 2.8, 3.5, and 4.5.

There are some pics here, including a product photo I took of the K-1 with the A 50mm F1.2 Special.

The DA 50mm is perfectly usable in practice.

Can you maybe compare its edge performance to FA 50mm f1.4 (or even f1.7)?

Perhaps! I do have both lenses on hand at the moment, but there are so many comparisons to get through...worst case it'll have to wait until our comprehensive test of DA lenses.
