Tonight turned on the camera and it was refusing to come out of manual mode. Even a rest and nothing.

I see there is a video in bugs thread but no reply.

Anyone seen this before have I done something wrong, before I go to the dealer..

Dear colleagues,

This bug is not a software issue.
One guy from St-Petersburg, Russia, had this problem in the end of May and already solved it.
Less than a week in the service and he is happy again.
Official russian serviceman sad that some contact was lost. Repair is not long and complex, but it is hardware issue and you need to go to the service.

I think it will be often case, so do not lose the time in discussions
It is most like the ribbon cable from the top cable is not seated correctly to the body. I t is an easy fix

Also, since it sounds like this might be a software bug, try doing a battery pull while the camera is on, or reset the settings.
this is very common in a lot of electronics, especially cell phones.

I'm glad this is an easy fix... curious to see how the fix holds up over time. I hope it is a long term fix not a band-aid. Does anyone have any info from their repair that indicated the likelihood of a repeat issue.

Most happy to tell you my K1 was repaired in less than 1 hour after I delivered it for service! I delivered it at 1:30 today, and got the message that it was fixed and ready to be picked up at 2:24 . I am most grateful for the kind and quick service I got from Norwegian FOVI and Camera & Videoteknikk

A repair turnaround of 1 hour does beg the question - if the issue can be so quickly fixed, it seems like a very simple flaw that might even be repairable by end-users ...

Of course, one could also note that if the flaw is indeed a very simple one, it shouldn't exist in the first place, if the camera was designed (or assembled) properly.
