I have tried to shoot with it in FF mode without the hood.

Sometimes you come across a thread that makes you go, damn, I need to get out with my...in this case, wide angle lens.

This was worth testing as you're getting most of the frame to work with. Careful compositon, cropping/devignette in post makes this a workable lens in FF to me.

I tried the same lens with a film camera a couple years ago and thought it would be cool if they would make a FF hood to fit the lens. But it might need to be 8 inches wide

I tried it on my SF1 and found it usable past 13mm or so.
