Something different: a circuit board, taken at 1:1 with the high-resolution lens I’m using to copy 35mm negs and slides (Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon-Zirconia 89mm F2.8 1.0x) at f/4.8. Pixelshift makes a lot of difference under these conditions. The insert in the upper left corner is a detail from the bottom left corner at pixel level if the image is viewed at 100% (1350 pixels wide).

Spectacular circuit board image. Very sharp and clean.

Thank you! This lens is a real one-trick pony but at 1:1 it is just amazing.

Some stunning images in this thread, but unless I am missing something, the main element of pixel shift (extreme resolution and detail) can't really be shown by posting images here. The size is smaller, I see JPG compression artifacts when I zoom in I think. Can someone explain?

What are those things in center? Some artifacts? Or clouds?

I think the big thing that I like pixel shift for is that it gives less noise in shadows and more latitude for processing as a result. Many of my images would be on the edge of requiring HDR due to their dynamic range. Due to my internet speeds I don't post full sized images (I don't really want others stealing my images either) and flickr has their own compression issues. I still think you can get an idea of images, but if not, I think that is the point.

So I have not done any pixel shifted images since I first got the camera.

Do you still need to edit outside of Lightroom? Because LR just pulls in the 1st image of the 4?
