I think the big thing that I like pixel shift for is that it gives less noise in shadows and more latitude for processing as a result. Many of my images would be on the edge of requiring HDR due to their dynamic range. Due to my internet speeds I don't post full sized images (I don't really want others stealing my images either) and flickr has their own compression issues. I still think you can get an idea of images, but if not, I think that is the point.
