So I have not done any pixel shifted images since I first got the camera.

Do you still need to edit outside of Lightroom? Because LR just pulls in the 1st image of the 4?
Lightroom does combine the four images, but it is unable to deal with any movement. So, places where there is movement within a scene with artifact in Lightroom and so DCU and Raw Therapee are better from that standpoint since they have motion correction options. If it is a completely still scene you should be able to use LR without problem.

I guess a pixel shift thread at web resolutions are just examples of pictures taken with ps. The resolution improvements by ps is at the single pixel level. Images here do look very clear so perhaps something is transferred.

I agree that they are examples of PS, but what examples! While it’s not possible to get the full benefit of the extremes of dynamic range from the web resizing, there’s a good representation of framing, lighting etc as well as the processing technique that gives a good feel for what the originals look like. It’s like looking at a post card - the images look great but you just know that there is so much more in there. Keep it up guys!

There is one advantage of Pixelshift that is clearly visible even at small sizes: it is practically immune against moiré. Although not an interesting photo, this test shot – a reproduction of a halftone print, taken with the K-1 and the D FA 50mm Macro – shows the difference. Left is with Pixelshift, right without. Needless to say, the resolution is also better with Pixelshift, but this advantage disappears when downsizing.

Actually, I think this is one of the best examples of why I should give Pixelshift a try - because you are correct in most instances that downsizing an image eliminates much of the visible advantage.

Very Nice, Im looking through this thread backwards. I haven't really checked it out before, but you must have a nice sunset virtually every night.

Thank you all. I usually get up at 5 am. I guess a Ben Franklin sort of person -- early to bed and early to rise. Sunrises are often prettier than sunsets for whatever reason.
