I want to thank everyone that has been super helpful in my hunt for lenses for the new K-1. I'm trying to justify keeping my 50-135mm since I actually love this lens for reasons which I've posted elsewhere. However, on the K-1 I feel as if it is having an issue with focusing. I can't put my finger on it, and I can't/don't have examples of when it'll happen but I know that it just will.

I just wanted to throw this out there in case someone else might have seen another thread on this topic or experienced it themselves. I don't know how to tell if this might be an SDM issue, and perhaps this is a good time to educate myself on such matters...Any thoughts would be appreciated.

NOTE: The hesitation has occurred under all types of light conditions so it isn't based on low light level photography nor is related to my inexperience with my flashes (another post elsewhere).

2nd the SDM theory. I had similar problems, then converted to screw drive. Much better accuracy now.

I cleaned the contacts and will pull out one of the old cameras and give that a try as well. Thanks guys! I'm too much of a chicken to disable the SDM so I'll just deal with it for now. Thanks for the great info.
