I use Transcend sd cards. The largest capacity I have is the 64 gb, class 10, UHS-1 card. I have never had a problem with any of them. SDXC or SDHC are available at different speeds.

Welcome to the forum.

I have been very happy with Sandisk Extreme Pro cards on the K-1. Usual fitout is two 32 GB Extreme Pros in the K-1. Also had good experience with Transcend SDHC R95 cards.

+1 for Sandisk Extreme Pro.

A general consensus is to go for the better quality SD card(s), because there is nothing more irritating than to loose your shots because of a faulty card.

Here's what I'd recommend, depending on how much space you need:

SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Memory SDSDXXG-064G-GN4IN
SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC Memory SDSDXXG-128G-ANCIN

128Gb is probably the way to go to be future-proof. In any case, these cards deliver optimal performance with the K-1, and they have a lifetime warranty in case they break.

I picked up three 256GB Sandisk Extreme Pro cards and they work great. I used to use the 32GB version wth my K-30, but when stepping up to the K-1, I found myself running out of space.

I can also recommend these two. Have never had any problem with either Transcend, nor with Sandisk.

Samsung Pro+

In contrast to SanDisk (now a WD subsidiary) Samsung states both read and write throughput.

The 64GB Samsung Pro+ is rated with 95 MByte/sec read and 90 MByte/sec write rate.

I use Lexar (when at $42.30 offer):
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007BZRXK2/
and Sony (when at $39.95 offer):
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MCJPZOI/
for stills with K-3 (no issues other than SDXC exFAT file system is not directly readable with my linux-based NAS; you avoid exFAT issue with 32GB SDHC cards).
Actually, I keep 128GB SDXC card in slot 1 for RAWs (PEFs) and 32GB SDHC card for JPGs in slot 2.
I the monies were not concern, I'd go for certified waterproof (watertight) cards - might be due to my watersports hobbies

Am looking at this for the original K-3

Any reason product SDSDXXG-064G-GN4IN wouldn't be ok for the K-3?

Thanks!

That card works just fine- I've used it many times.

Compatibility is the name of the game when it comes to the SD standard, so any SDXC card released in the future should always work with the K-3.

If you are going to be using pixel shift resolution frequently it really gobbles up SD card space, being about 160 mb per shot, so a large capacity card would be good. As to brands I've used San Disc, Sony, and PNY in my K-1 with no problems with any of them.

Regarding the Lexar cards mentioned above it has been officially announced Lexar is going out of business. I'm not sure how significant this may be for a purchase at this time.
