K-50 battery for a Pentax K-1?

Simple question, is the K-50 battery compatible with the K-1? I have two of these K-50 batteries, The K-1 I have on order will come with a battery, that makes 3 batteries across 2 devices if they are all interchangeable. Does anyknow know if they are?

Nope, the K-1 uses the larger D-Li90. The K-50's battery works with the K-500, K-S2, K-70, KP, K-30, and K-r.

I usually download the user manual as part of my market research and to help me orient to the controls and menus before the camera arrives. A happy side effect of having the manual handy is that the full set of specifications is in the back.

Theoretically ... and if you really wanted to re-use those smaller, low-capacity D-LI109's ... as the K-50 D-LI109 is smaller than the K-1 D-LI90, you could 3D-laser up a dummy D-LI90 battery that would fit a D-LI109 in it (paying attention to the slightly different pin-outs).

D-LI109 is 7.4V 1050 mAh and D-LI90 is 7.2V 1860 mAh, so even though the capacity is very different, the voltage is close enough.

The K50 can use a AA battery insert. I had one for mine. If you have a grip for the K-1 you could swap AA batteries back and forth. I did that with my K3 and K50. I did not really like the Pentax battery for the K50. It did not seem to hold a charge for a long enough time.
