Good question. Works on WiFi but not sure about BT.

I should have said : If you plug one end to one phone, and connect to it via WiFi from another device , it's a remote trigger (with lots of modes), but yes, it seems to be WiFi not BT.

Just pulled mine out and it is wired only. No Bluetooth, no Wifi. So you must have a different version.

Sadly Triggertrap has folded up and gone out of business. Remaining stock is at third party sellers and when gone, is gone.

The software has a master and slave function. I think there is only 1 version of the trigger itself.

Checked their website and it does do Wifi. But the Triggertrap itself is wired only. You need two iOS devices, one connected by wire to the camera and the other in your hand to make it work. The app on one sends a signal to the app on the device which triggers the wired Triggertrap dongle.

Alpine Labs Spark (Spark FAQ - Alpine Labs) has a Bluetooth option. They told me that it is compatible with the K3. Didn't ask about the K1 though/

There is also Pixel TW-283/E3 which is a radio wireless (and also wired) timer remote control for less than 30 euros, works up to 80 meters...

I purchased the Cactus v6II setup since I want to start messing with wireless triggers and flashes in 2018. Thanks for everyone's input! Once they get here, I'll confirm that I can use one of the transmitters to trigger the shutter.
