I thought there was a way to alter the colour version in the different User Modes to reflect/help the user to quickly recognise which mode they were in, currently however it appears to me that if you change the colour scheme its right across the board...

For example I have a 'kid' user mode (ISO Parameters set to Fast among other unique settings I find work best with unpredictable little people), it would be nice for the back of the display to be in something indifferent to the other settings, such as Purple or Blue etc.

Doesn't look like this can be bound however, shame.

You can't change the colors, but you can give each user mode a custom name, and that name will be shown on the back LCD every time you change modes.

Yeh I currently do that, sometimes in the heat of the moment I can forget or miss which mode I'm in, I just thought it would be kinda neat for it to store a colour scheme per user mode (if desired). I actually thought I read somewhere that this could be done lol

That sounds like a good suggestion for a firmware update Bruce. The boffins over at Ricoh/Pentax look in every once in a while for ideas.
if you post in the linked forum, they might take it on board.

Perhaps you can set the light on the top LCD display to ON (or OFF) in a user mode?
