I spoke today to Mr. Steve Mongrain, a senior manager at Precision Camera. I explained him precisely what the issues are and complained that neither one of them was addressed in the first time I sent them my camera in for a warranty repair. Then I directed him to this site and pointed to my thread with all relevant problem descriptions and posted sample images. Mr. Mongrain thanked me for detailed descriptions of the problems and said that a situation with my camera repair was not the one they expected to deal with. In the first time they proceeded with just a general diagnostic and service routine without looking into root cause of the described white dots problem. He promised me to get a feed back from his engineer and then decide, after consulting with Ricoh, on whether to replace just a sensor or the entire camera. Hopefully this time I will get a proper remedy for this white dots problem. I will keep you posted.
