Howdy everyone,
Yesterday I read a few articles saying that the K-1 wasn´t sharp at all, not just with one lens, but with pro line lenses as well
Is that true?
Of course it is true! They must have used the K-1 as a shaver with poor results

This is the most irrelevant comment about the K-1 I've ever heard! Please provide the links to those articles because I love humorous readings!

Cameras aren't sharp. It is impossible for them to shoot without a lens and often that is the weak link in the chain. Assuming a sharp lens and a photographer with some skill, the photos achieved will have excellent sharpness. I do find it interesting that this is someone's fourth post on the Forum though.

Ya think?

Yes, a sharp camera would be ergonomically very poor.

here is 3 Mpix croped from 36 Mpix image, downsized to 1500x1000 pix. It was shot handheld with portrait lens (FA* 85 f1,4) at f4 (even at not it's best resolution).

Sources please. We need to address the source.
The guy said a few articles, and that was what he saw yesterday alone . At that rate there must be thousands of such articles popping up everywhere around the web. Funny I have never seen any, but perhaps he saw them on a Canon or Nikon forum

I think the guy is a troll. He has only just joined and seems to have made nine posts all at about 9 hours ago (as I post this). It otherwise strange to introduce yourself on an enthusiast forum with such flamebait.

Let's be reasonable. He may have legitimate interest and may have bad data. Give him the benefit of the doubt and time to respond.

Perhaps he means this thread where some people are rightfully complaining about shutter shock with the K-1.

An example of one of Ernesto's "not sharp" photos.

Focus on the bird, not the fence would be my advice.
Without references or further attention from the OP the thread should probably be deleted. Write it off to frustration due to poor performance based on little technical knowledge.

It's the old ask for help by loudly claiming the camera is inadequate trick. In my mind all such posts should be deleted. How about when you ask for help, stating a problem we can work on. Claiming a camera takes soft pictures for no apparent reason, is not a useful approach and shouldn't be rewarded.

People need to learn how to ask for advice.

Yes it's un-sharp in the hands of with persons having trouble with grave Alzheimer's, alcoholism and other disorders etc . However - I still recommend that very camera for those people because it helps them taking a pic. Dropping them on the ground might also make make em un-trusty. Dirty sticky lenses is not covered - take care with bubblegum and candy - when out shouting.

I don't think he's trolling. According to his profile, he has a K70 and he has posted some nice comments elsewhere on the forum. At the same time, people around here do tend to whip up antagonism at gear over different things, with Shutter Shock being the most recent example. If he doesn't have a lot of experience, it would be easy to extrapolate some folks comments into thinking that the K-1 is a pretty incapable camera.

No, the K1 is not sharp. Nice rounded edges. Very good ergonomics. Feels great in the hand. No sharp corners or edges. The photos, on the other hand, they are quite sharp.

Just allowing for the benefit of the doubt, it is possible that there were some articles somewhere in Spanish which most of us haven't seen. I've sometimes found some unusual reactions, results, or opinions in another language that I haven't seen in English. Maybe he's new to either photography or Pentax and just trying to learn. (even if the more negative possibilities could be the case as well). Maybe he'll show up again and respond...

Exceeds the resolution capability of a good number of my "pro line" lenses.
