K1 face detection in live view

Trying out the face recognition in live view with my K1. When we photograph a group of persons, the display may show more than one face with a little square on. The yellow little square is over the top of the face the camera will focus on, and other square are shown in white over the top of other faces. How do we select the face we want to focus on?

The face recognition is pretty primitive. It picks one, apparently at random, and you cannot choose. I've tried every button and dial both while it was detecting faces, as well as after focus was locked.
I guess your only options is to keep half-pressing and releasing the focus button. A different face might be chosen. Eventually you might get the one you want. :-(

Face detection is not so bad, it seems to be detecting faces when eyes are well defined, it is not a bad thing. I've just done an experiment with pictures, the detection is instant fast with asian faces and faces with dark eyes. Face detection hesitates a bit with blue eyes, I guess the algorithm is looking for a pair of contrasty circles in the image. When focusing on a group of people...hum, I'd have expected to be able to move face selection with the 4 ways controller but it doesn't work.

Change AF mode, as simple as that.

See p53 of the manual. But note that you can't turn it off in Auto mode...

True. There isn't much detail at page 53, they only say how to turn this face detection mode on/off.
