Both it is. Just take 20min exposure with and without in room temp to try it out.

Thanks! I couldn't find a direct reference either. I think I'll be messing with this trying to compare the benefits next time I'm out shooting the stars.

There are a variety of astro oriented software programs designed to do this if you don't want to do it in camera. Two of the more well-known ones are Deep Sky Stacker and Sequator(which is what I use).
