Why there is a black rectangle restricting focus point movement to the edges? I also have focus accuracy problems with CDAF (should never happen?) when the subject is near edge and is not parallel enough. K-1 shows green box for CDAF, but I can still make sharper focus manually! I noticed this when trying to shoot edge shots for decentered lens test with the DFA*50

There are no CDAF points outside the rectangle.

CDAF performance depends on subject contrast with both accuracy and precision suffering as contrast decreases. Sometimes we can do better manually and sometimes not. Try a different subject and best out of ten and see if you still win.

What procedure were you using? Most approaches are based on establishing center focus and not refocusing for the corners.
