IMO, the K1 upgrade of the mother board is not exactly the same as buying a K1 Mk II from Ricoh factory line. Or... my K1 is a deviation from the K1 standard quality , explaining why some K1 users noticed shutter shock and other didn't with the copy of K1 they own, also possible.

This seems likely since the factors causing shutter shock are unlikely to involve the parts replaced in the upgrade. If the SS went away after the upgrade it might just be that reassembly tightened or loosened something which eliminated the problem.

My K1 mark II is not a K1 upgrade. I have two bodies, one K1 and one K1 II, both purchased new from Ricoh, I have compared the same images taken with both bodies and the same DFA28-105 lens, K1 images are blurred, K1 II images aren't blurred. So there is something with the shutter block of my K1 that's not the same as the shutter block on my K1 II. My K1 makes a more distinct shutter noise than my K1 II, the K1 II sound is softer.

Have you investigated sending it in for "repair" or adjustment? It would seem there is something different about your K1. Mine was a pre-order so presumably out of the first production batch. Just curious what Ricoh would say about sending it in for this.

I've decided to use the K1 with heavier glass (DFA150-450) shutter speed is almost always faster than 1/200th, and use the DFA28-105 on the K1 II.
