K1 Question

Camera was normal this morning after plugging in a flash sync cable to the flash I now have flash symbol on lcd constantly at any shutter speed or lighting conditions even no lens but it is not present in the viewfinder or live view camera works normally it’s as if it thinks the flash is still plugged in

Edit: Moved post to current K-1 area!

Welcome to the Pentax Forums!

That is strange. Are you saying that you connected the flash using the PC sync port? Normally, that would not result in the "flash ready" indicator showing, even with the flash attached. Is it possible you are seeing the "flash mode" indicator (upper left, rear LCD)?

Have you tried resetting the camera to factory settings?

Based on your comment on the thread below, what you are seeing is the status screen flash mode icon. That is perfectly normal and always displayed.

Quick question to K1 users regarding flash symbol - PentaxForums.com

It is a normal component of the status screen...

We all have a moment like this or many moments. I was freaking out over a live view issue. Turns out just a setting. Live an learn. Then go take more pictures.
