Pentax K-1 ii Micro SD Card

Any one have experience with micro sd cards in the K-1 ii, using an adapter, of course. Got a new lap top w/ a micro sd slot which would make loading pix easier. Thanks D.

The general advice is don't, but I'll leave it to anyone who has actually tried it to provide direct experience.

There are people here that do, I would not, it's an extra connection (for the adapter) and chance to corrupt the photos. In fact I rarely ever remove thew SD card, I prefer to transfer via cable, and would prefer wifi, but it's a little too slow.

Q: Can a miniSD Card or microSD card be used through a memory card adapter?
A: Proper operation of a memory card used through an adapter cannot be guaranteed.
Use a regular SD Memory Card (SD/SDHC/SDXC).
Many posters will chime in and say they do it all the time with no problems. Your choice.

I've used them without any issues, but I've also have 3 micro cards fail on me to date, compared to one standard SD over about twice as many years. I'd recommend sticking to the full size cards.

I'm using an sandisc 256GB sdxc-micro in Slot 1 of my K1 as main-storage for round about two years.

For copying to the computer I use an external Card-reader and the card in the sd-Slot.
Because of the size (more than 5000 pictures raw) the card in the slot2 nearly gets no pictures anymore.
On concerts it may be roundabout 1500 pictures in 4 hours

I didn't have any Problems on my K1 (140 000 pictures) and K3 (85000 pictures).

Thanks to all who replied. Probably just keep using standard sd cards w/ my card reader to transfer the pix to the computer. I generally follow the KISS system. Keeps me out of trouble. 😄😇

With the price of cards these days why even bother with adapting the microSD cards. You won't have to worry about what device the mcroSD cards are in or the whereabouts of those pesky adapters.

"Got a new lap top w/ a micro sd slot which would make loading pix easier." I don't know there is any adapter from SD to a microSD Slot. I think it will work

I don't use it myself, but my brother-in-law does. He uses a K5, and has never reported any problems with the micro SD card.

I have three 128GB cards for the K1, one of which is a mini w/adapter. FWIW that card is my last resort one, in my slingbag "just in case". Not surprisingly "just in case" has happened more than once in recent months, and so far no issue with it.

The only reason I have it is it's a leftover from one of my previous smartphones.
