For sale on eBay is a K1 II that is made to look like a Spotmatic down to the Asahi crystal engraving on the prism!

That would go nicely with my old Spotmatic, a matched pair! I will ask Santa, and try to be very good over the next few months ...

Is that a Pentax option, or has the camera shop done it themselves?

It seems a more bulbous shape, looking at the two versions, maybe it sits over the usual one, though the photos don't really support that.

It's one of the four J Limited options. Pentax collaborated with several companies for these (including Citizen Watch for the Gold Duratect lens mount.

I don't understand. It doesn't look much like a Spotmatic to me, and there is no mention of Spotmatic in the advert. The only thing I notice is the old Asahi logo on the pentaprism, am I missing something else?

I agree. I do not see much resemblance to the Spotmatic.

Then not specifically to the Spotmatic. The Art Deco AOCo logo was used on all Pentax (and pre-Pentax) cameras from 1952 to 1980. I've had a few - MX, K2, 6x7.
