Don't ask me about my Canon or MF cameras.
So...what about your Canon or MF cameras?

I couldn't resist. Now I have 6 Pentax cameras. Is there a word for this condition?
K1 II is a good camera. It's normal to buy newer better tools. You could sell your older cameras to allow people having a lower budget to upgrade their own older camera.

I am changing my system from Canon (ef and rf) to Pentax which has always been my favorite. For now I bought a K1, but many lenses, both new and old, then I will buy another body.

You could not resist. You had to go there.

3x F1N with AE finder and speed finders
1x F1n with eye level finder, speedfinder, speed booster and EE finder
Many, many focus screens
Motor and winder for F1n
Motor and winder for F1Ns
The battery cases and cords
1x FTb chrome
1x Canon 7 black not functioning
1x Canon 7 Bell & Howell chrome
2x Canon 7s chrome
1x Canon IVsb2 chrome
2x Canon P chrome not functioning

And yes, among my rangefinder lenses I have the famous Canon Dream Lens designed for the Canon 7/7s. I use it on my Sony a7II with an adapter.

To date, I've used 21 different camera bodies, and still own 19 of them. I shoot regularly with 3 of these (K-3, K-S1, and K-70), while 3 others are dead. Most of the remainder would need some CLA work to become fully functional again.

Interestingly, my total outlay for purchasing these 21 cameras was only about $4000. My most expensive camera purchase was the Pentax K-70/18-135 kit that I bought in 2017 for $850. My most expensive film-era camera was a Canon T90 bought in 1987 for $528.

If you feel guilty about buying too many cameras or lenses, post a thread here, tell us why you need this camera or lens. We will attempt to talk you out of it. If you got our blessings instead, guilt will go away.

This may work.

I'm sure 99.99% of the forum members here outdo me, and in the words of DBZ, will show people how "to go further beyond!!" 😂

I only got 3: a Pentax ZX-L, a Kalimar K-90 (3rd party kmount), and a Sears TLS (m42 mount, rebadged Ricoh Singlex TLS)

Indeed, that's interesting, one Pentax K1 costs half of $4000 and outperform all previous Pentax cameras ever made. I'm glad I sold my K200, K5 and K3 + Tamron 17-50 + Tamron 28-75 to buy a K1+28-105, I took two euro out of pocket to make up for K1 kit price, I think it was a good deal. I have not idea what I would do if I had 21 cameras (I'm not a collector, as you can see).

it seems to me

the correct answer to how many camera/lenses/bicycles/gizmos you have, need or obtain

depends on you

and those you help to support

remember " compromise " is a good word in a relationship

but who cares about my opinion any way

From memory, but I will have to do an inventory to confirm. I might have left something out, hehehe.
  • Two Samsung NX1 bodies, working
  • Working K200D and *ist DL
  • Semi-broken K-x (needs duct tape for broken battery door but works)
  • Broken K10D and *ist DL
  • MZ6 and LX that ran when parked
  • Broken Chinon body (came with an M 50/1.7)
  • Broken MX and K1000
  • Working Hasselblad 500 ELX
  • Working Minolta SRT 303
Plus a small selection of lenses, of course.

It is called gear acquisition syndrome, GAS for short.
