Highest Shutter Count K1?

Curious, what is your shutter count? Wonder what the highest anyone has on their K1?

Has your K1 ever needed any service?

Is there yearly maintenance that should be performed at a camera shop, sort of like for a car, to keep it running at it's finest, and give it the longest life?

My K1 has about 150 shots on it... LOL

But I do know that the reason most shutters die is because of dirt and sand getting in the mech. So keep it as clean as you can. It's rated for 300K MTBF.

There is nothing laughable about having 150 shots on a camera, if those 150 shots all turned into $500 prints. People, especially consumer, confuse quantity vs quality. With a digital camera, fast burst rate, we can easily take 100 000 exposure that are only worth going to the trash bin.

I was on 14,663 last month. Have had it over 5 years, so apparently I only do about 3000 shots a year on average. I'm at best a weekend warrior.
its never been serviced (other than my own sensor clean - twice). I do try to keep lens change times very short and in clean environments to avoid dust entering (and it seems like the pump action of the DA 28-105 has been the main way dust got in as only saw dust after extended use of it). The fact I only had to clean the sensor twice in that period says a lot about the K-1 dust removal system, as my K-5 sensor need cleaning anywhere from 6 months to 12 months depending on my use.

My manufacture date was 2016-08-15, and I bought it in November.
The shutter count is 47,657

It currently needs repair. The shutter locks up during use, making burst less useable and requiring quickly flipping the off and off switch. I should really get to sending it off for repair. But, it's landscape camera and it always works, so I would really hate to send it off until I actually can't use it.

Let's see, since 2017 was the first full year of use, I've had it for 5 years now. So 45000 would be 9000 a year. Plus the 10,000 a year from my K-3 that sounds about right. Before the K-1 I averaged about 20,000 images year on my K-3.

MY K-3 is 150,000 images in 8 years. So, on the two cameras I'm closing in on 200,000 images over 8 years.

Last time I posted in shutter count thread, I pretty much killed the thread, although it's possible I joined in late and everyone else has already posted.

Maybe send it off for repair in the early spring, when things are mostly still brown?

I got my K1 in May 2016 and it has about 3,900 shots. I got a K1-II when they came out and it has about 4,100 shots on it. Not all that much for a digital camera. My K3 probably as about 4K shots on it too. It has pretty much sat on the shelf since I got my first K1.

Ansel Adams once said that his goal was to produce one great photograph a month. I would argue that this is still a worthy goal to achieve.

I was at 118k before a shutter replacement was required.

However strange it might be, I have an annoying problem after almost 50 000 shots in my K1 II… with the shutter button. It often stays partially depressed and does not spring back, which means that I cannot check the picture I just took.

To release I have either to turn the camera off or work it with the finger a bit to make it bounce back.

I did not get round to send it for repair yet.

Anybody else having this issue?

On the K3 I am close to 200 000 and the shutter sometimes makes a strange noise as if not all the mechanism worked (i.e. the mirror or the shutter move and the other doesn’t) but since this seems random I never could see what the problem is exactly. Moreover an SD card torn away in some way a contact and one of the two card slots does not work anymore, but the camera is too old to justify a repair.

When I talk about images I think are worth printing, I don't get anywhere near that. Most of my images are only good for torturing you guys with, here on the forum, and my friends on face book.

K5IIs - 40800
K3 - 86743
K1 - 43205

My nephew has my OG Kx so I can't check that, but before I gave it to him it was north of 21000

None of my cameras has needed any service.

I had the same problem, turned out to be a grain old sand causing it.

I have to check it but surely above 140.000 on my older K-1. Those are mostly on AF-C and continuous bursts in high speed until the buffers fill (more than 90% of the clicks). I had problems on my K-1 around 132.000 clicks and had to have her serviced and came back with new guts (new mirror box and shutter mechanism). That problem came up after 3 days in an airshow where I took more than 3500 before the problem came up! She works without any problems ever since but quite relieved by having a 2nd K-1 body (I bought second hand with around 500 clicks) to help her.

I'm taking very good care of my equipment and the use of my K-1 is on the extreme side and far from what the camera was designed for. If the K-3iii had similar problems I would be worried but up to now my K-1s serve me very well and I'm very satisfied.

my original K-1 had a little 21k on the odometer when I traded it in last year. Current K-1ii is somewhere around 2000
