K1 ii self timer menu icon disappeared

Hi guys,

Not sure if this is a firmware bug or my camera settings.

Something wierd happened to the self timer. The icon and menu label disappeared and the options aren't accessible to navigate.

Luckily I have a remote intervalometer which I use but still...

This happened after update from 1.20 to 1.21.
Now on 1.30 and its not fixed

This is how it looks inside the LCD:

Does anyone know how to fix it or how to contact Ricoh for a software bug report??

So you can’t use the 4 way to move down? And what is the mode you are in? I think some modes lock it out - maybe bulb?

I'm not sure. I updated mine (I don't remember if it was 1.20 or 1.21) 1.30 and this is what mine looks like in all settings except Bulb (second pic is what Bulb looks like )Try downgrading to 1.20 (or earlier) then go straight to 1.30?

No you can't.....

Yeah guys, pressing down on the 4-way doesn't work. Hopefully if my image is visible (should be?), you can see there's no name or icon there.

I used the mode extensively before buying a remote timer (which has more options for astro), but yeah something is seriously hinky here

The lock button is not engaged and I have tested different modes, B, M, A, P - and all give same result. It's almost like some file within the firmware binary is missing or a software library or extension is missing?

Quick discovery which is completely weird....

The Self Timer icon shows up and is able to be activated in any of the 5 USER modes.

In any other normal mode, it doesn't work or show up at all???

Yeah, or at least something on the Ricoh site to post bug reports or some kind of software contact.

I'm sure I've hit a bug of some sort but as to what has triggered it, I can't work it out....

Usually 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
1) Set Camera to known mode (Program or manual Mode)

2) Remove battery and give 1 minute before replacing

3) Reset Camera

4) Reload firmware (current version and make sure good copy is on SD card)

5) Cry and start looking for a service center (or learn to live with issue)

Sounds like a formula derived from experience

haha

But traditionally I guess this is the same procedure for anything that is having issues....
