I can well understand how if one has the marvelous K-1 II but does not have any lens with AF or WR, a chance to have these features avaiable for such a low price would be very tempting. Even though I do have more than one AF zoom lens from my 35mm film shooting days with a zoom range starting with 28mm, and these are FF lenses, I still went for the pre-packaged deal from Ricoh for the K-1 II with the DFA 28-105mm included and about $100 off the lens price. I did this so that I have a complete, true WR setup available when using the K-1 II. I have not been disappointed with this lens so far, as it produces excellent quality imaging

By all accounts, the DFA 28-105 must be one of the best "kit zooms" that have ever borne the Pentax name, clearly transcending the category. The only thing that has stopped me from trying it even on APS-C is that I own both the DA 16-85 and the 55-300 PLM, which between them cover everything and more than what the DFA 28-105 could do for me.

If I had money to spend and came across a nicely-priced display copy of it, I would be seriously tempted anyway.

I will get the lens, and if I'm not happy with it I will give it back to my dad, or ask him if I can sell it and get a other lens for my camera. I dropped my zenitar 16mm and the aperture blades are shifted and I really liked that Lens, so getting a other one would be nice too. most of the time I'm using wide angle or macro lens. love the smc 100mm macro but the Kiron 105mm is a really beautiful beast of a lens.
but ima the rainy Netherlands it would be great to have one weather sealed lens, now I'm sometimes leave the camera at home when the weather is bad.
