I was totally gonna get a K-1, but not anymore. The "menus look dated".

Tony N Video- APSC lenses on FF body

I haven't watched it yet, but the video includes the K-1.

Good, fair review minus the bit on lenses and costs.

He says the only UWA lens for the K-1 is the new D-FA 15-30, but mentions among Canon FF lenses is the Samyang/Rokinon 14mm 2.8, even though it's also available in K mount.

Regarding costs, he says that a used K-1 and lenses used is more expensive than an equivalent used Canikon systems, but doesn't calculate a used Pentax system with any lenses released before last year. He doesn't hold Canikon to the same criteria.

He's always pretty superficial, but - influential with the hordes. And he has a hot wife, so we all watch his vids anyway, right?

Like I said it was mostly a good, fair review.
I wonder if the videos without his wife get less views?

That price comparison was very strange.

If "buying used" is an option, the whole idea that there are only a few FF lenses for the K-1 falls down. At this point he should have mentioned the plethora of great legacy glass available for the K-1.

Also, I find the idea of the K-1 being too slow to take portraits preposterous. There might be a name for the approach he appears to be using -- "spray and pray" springs to make -- but it isn't "portraiture".

P.S.: I'm pretty sure he is wrong about the D810 and the K-1 sharing the same sensor and the K-1 ISO 100 actually being ISO 50.

But the legacy glass is not good enough (if it has the Pentax label)
He doesn't even consider the D FA* 70-200 as on the same level with the Canikons; the other lenses don't stand a chance against such a strong confirmation bias.

I can't disagree with your assertion after watching both videos.

Call it heavy if you want to complain about 165 grams or 30 grams, but it's not my fault if my first reaction is to suspect you're a wuss.
30 grams is ok, but 165 grams starts becoming noticeable. I like hiking and for that I want to save as much weight as I can. I think the 800 gram K-3 is already a lot.

My Gaydar always goes of when I see Tony (not an insult, just a fact before people start to take offence).
