The Online Photographer: O Happy Pentax Day
"In case you don't know, in the camera world, Pentaxians are a breed apart. They're moderate, mild, friendly, dripping with decency, thoughtful, considerate, intelligent and tolerant. You know—like Canadians.
They're also quietly long-suffering, and long since resigned to being second fiddle."

I'm doubly a breed apart then?

The body style reminds me of a Land Rover. Tough, macho and ready for anything, with a beefy grip to hang on to.
Best lines.

It's really nice to read so many writers and reviewers - and commenters - giving us a tip of the hat, wishing us well, celebrating our loyalty and quirkiness and often recounting their own historical experiences with Pentax. It doesn't feel strange at all to actually be emotionally attached to a consumer brand when so many others understand and share the sentiment.

C R Kennedy, the Australian Importer, clearly haven't heard the news yet!
Not a peep about the K-1 on their website!
Not even anything in anticipation.

We can assume that first deliveries in Australia will be just in time for Christmas (possibly even 2017!)

Keep up, Rod, WizOfOz has already ordered from them and will be getting his in April, with luck.

Pentax AU's Facebook is promising:

"full details on price and availability will be announced here in coming days".

Gentlemen of quality like us never mention figures, Rod! Something for our staff to deal with.

I emailed Kennedy with a query re the availability and Oz price of the K-1 yesterday or the day before with a view to pre-order and haven't had a reply. Kennedy is usually very good, so this total silence is a tad disturbing.

Maybe next week I'll phone and see what the go is, else I guess I'll eventually pre-order from B & H.

When you espouse the Consumer Reports feature comparison process something like the K-1 doesn't add up. When you espouse the User Utility evaluation process the K-1 is a very competitive choice.

But you have to change religions to understand.
