Pentax K1 fullframe - first opinions.... | CI Photocommunity

I was watching the Clinton Camera review on YouTube last night on our TV and my wife actually stopped her reading to watch it. She likes the screen and the lights and she is still happy with her K5, actually she would most likley still be happy with her K10D if she had not dropped it. My wife is not the kind of customer a company wants, she buys once and is satisfied until it does need to be replaced. I am not much better as still very happy with the K5IIs and the only way that I could justify getting the K1 is by selling the Hasselbad system and that is not going to happen.

I also watched two other videos but cannot remember where they were from, searched for Pentax K1 and they came up along with lots for the K-01 which I also watched as I have on the way to me right now.

Exciting times for Pentax and Pentax users, even those of us who are sastisfied with our current cameras and lenses.

Did anyone read the terrible Cnet review? So many errors. I'll forgive you if you stop reading at the first paragraph when she talks about how "the relatively inexpensive 645D has been quite popular" with no mention of the Z. But no, she goes on to say how the K-1 is for enthusiasts. Apparently, based on its specs (whatever that means), its using the same sensor as the original A7R without an AA filter to blur "edges". Video looked good, but the sensor SR produced wobbles that shouldn't be there. The reviewer doesn't "think" sensor SR works as well as optical SR. She "thinks" she saw some shake at reasonable shutter speeds.
The woman that does the camera reviews on Cnet is clearly both biased and ignorant. Lori Grunag or something is her name, she is so unworthy of my time that I couldn't be bothered to look up the correct spelling.

She bagged the K-3 when she clearly didn't understand it. She has bagged the K-1 sight unseen. The main problem she has with Pentax equipment seems to be it doesn't have Nikon or Canon on the name plate.

She ranks with Ben Stonehole as the most biased and least newsworthy 'reviewer'(I use the term losely) i have found on the net.

Read her reviews only at peril to your anger levels.

I find one part of the article funny. The part about camera size in the conclusion section. Most places they complain about these cameras need to be smaller, and this article was saying that this camera is too small. In cold climate for those people with gloves, they will have a hard time using it. Here I was thinking that is what the top right wheels are for... confused...

Interesting. A useful overview. 60-250 was mounted throughout.
They say the flippy screen is rated to carry 20kg. [!!]

They say that pixel shift results in a 42Mp image. That is new information, and wrong as far as I know. Is it not?

Yes its wrong. All other sites states the resolution is still 36 Mp. But the detail level is better then with bayer sensors. Its like foveon. I saw a calculation on this and its suppose to be as detailed as a bayer sensor with X Mp multiplied with the square root of two. So approximately comparable to a bayer 51 Mp sensor.

To say that Pentax shooters (Pentaxians, as some call themselves) were rabidly antici

Hands On With The New Pentax K-1

It's short and sweet and some irony to boot.
