If its the same sensor, the Pentax will capture more detail due to not having an AA filter, and far more detail by using pixel shift resolution.

D810 has no AA filter (neither does the A7R) ... so if you want 36MP with more detail, the K-1 pixel shift feature will be the means to do that.

it's sharp, beautifully saturated with a lovely out of focus. I'm guessing its the 15-30 2.8??

As I will not get the opportunity of handling one of these exciting cameras I found that the way you handled the camera gave me a valuable impression of its "in hand" heft and size. I am being sorely tempted by this beaut!

It isn't me handling the camera. It is someone from ephotozine and note that he got a camera specifically targeted at press people. I reckon regular boxes will look very similar, but won't have the battery installed already.
