I won't click on the link because it's DPReview. But from what I understand they put a 40 year old kit lens on it and were disappointed.

Overall they liked it which is a surprise...

They were less enthused with AF than kenspo apparently is. They don't think the LCD mount will be durable. And they don't think old lenses are worth using. Other than that, they seem surprisingly positive.

I wonder if they tested the AF with the same M50/2 they mounted for the product photo?

So far no-one - anywhere - has commented on the shutter sound. I am curious as to whether the K-1 shutter as quiet as the K-5/K-3?

I really hope it is, despite having a bigger shutter and mirror.

Probably with built-in correction, along with the 200 and 300 DA* primes.

Yep they did, because they think it is the most prevalent K mount lens and thus a typical lens for a Pentaxian. They seemed to cast doubts on the durability of the rear screen yet Amateur Photographer in the UK were swinging the K-1 and lens (28-105) by the lcd thus showing off its rugged design.

monochrome, they said they were using the new 15-30 lens, but had a very early firmware. They said, slow to lock on, but tracked well.

A far cry from the film bodies that they were designed for, bear in mind that the 36MP K-1 is likely to stress some of Pentax's older primes and zooms.
How so?
All my lenses bar one (which is a lemon) "out resolve" the 16.3MP in my K50, so surely, the crop region on the FF being 15mp, it's sensor won't stress the lenses more?
Sure, edge sharpness will be more of an issue again, but I'd really assume you also got that with film cameras.

Can't see what they're trying to get at?

I think the comment re screen durability was specific to the rubber sheathing covering the cable....not the entire assembly. Overall the review was balanced and quite positive....aside from the special-k barb.

36mp as expected, but a list price of only $1799? that's awesome.

only 33 focus points, but dual card slots and pixel shift.

"our initial impressions of shooting with one older 50mm Pentax prime aren't wholly encouraging." oh geez! idiot alert.

Wide angles struggle to do the full image circle.

Even FF ones - we forget that.
