God that is a weird looking camera...

I'm starting to get a real K-01 feeling about it. Guess I need to see it in person.

I have thought for a long time that illuminated buttons are a good idea. Like on the Nikon D4. Not sure about a camera with on board street lighting though.

Seeing what you are doing isn't as much help as knowing what you are doing

too bad they used blue LEDs instead of red...

For nighttime photography you want red LEDs not blue LEDs. If you were to take this camera up to the annual Stellafane in Vermont (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellafane) you and your blue LEDs would be booted off the property!!

Good point. I use a red flashlight so I should have thought of that. Maybe the color is configurable?

I was around in February 2012. There is NO K-01 vibe whatsoever. They're going to sell these faster than they can make them.

Agreed. The K-01 was misunderstood and under-appreciated from the start. This camera is being loved to death. Unless there are unseen, significant problems it clearly deserves it.

I think K-01 was priced wrong at beginning. I like my K-01, bought it back after sold it. But I will NOT buy one at $700 (maybe more when it was just released). It will get more praise if it had price tag around $300 from the start.

I am sure K1 would not be so much appreciated if the price was $3000 as we discussed a few weeks ago.
Pentax is NOT doomed this time!

Yes, they have clearly learned their lesson since the early pricing of the K-01 and original Q. The K-1 should sell well unless the whole DSLR market tanks even worse than it has already. I pre-ordered last night.
