Albert thanks for the comparison but it is not appropriate. You should have shot a side by side with Nikon D750 to be fair. That's what it is aimed at.
Also the location seems Ricoh headquarters in Tokyo

It's already on compare camerasize.com. Albert If you have the Camera on hands, could you make a picture of the contacts in de top of the mount? They are puzzling us.

I shoot a lot more film cameras than digital, because film is my fun. An MX is smaller than I like, but I have a pristine black one because that is my fun. I don't denigrate the entire MX because it isn't perfect for my grip like a KX and I don't denigrate the K-3 because my pinky finger ends up on the base.

I just shoot what I like and let everyone else like what they shoot.

The K-1 isn't 'aimed at' anything. Ricoh gave the K-1 a unique combination of (comparative) strengths and (comparative) weaknesses. If I were forced to choose between two cameras I'd compare and contrast D810, but that's because I want final IQ. I don't give a fig about frame rate or video.

K-mount with IMX-094 trumps every other feature.

How do you know its IMX094? IR or DPR mentioned its a different sensor manufacturer, though I find it hard to believe that.

I suppose we don't know, but our assumption has been a tweaked version of the D810 Sony sensor, with Pentax engineers applying their known special techniques to wring more out of it.

I haven't seen a contrary opinion in print yet - will you post a link?

That should mean more dynamic range - which is already likely to be high if Ricoh uses its usual sensor supplier.
Ir says nothing of the sort

Pixel dimensions of the d800 and D810 are exactly those of the K-1
7360 × 4912 and 4800 x 3200 in crop pixel pitch is 4.87 µm on the d800 4.88 µm on the d810 and 4.87 µm on the a7r.
According to ir it is 4.9 µm on the K-1 so a little bigger but if they rounded it it could be either.

Sorry, I was at an electronics store near my house in Tokyo. These were the only full-frame cameras they had for sale. The store employee was looking at me funny. I told him I just wanted to compare size and he walked away. LOL!

I agree that it's not straightforward to compare the K-1 against any particular available FF DSLR currently on market.

Certainly to compare it with D750 is difficult, due to big difference in sensor resolution, 24 vs 36.
