What is 4k video in K1?

I don't know much about video, but that the button you use looks like movie camera form the 1930's. So pentax caters for older video users. Haha.

But what is this about 4k interval video how does this work?

In addition to a host of distinctive visual effects available for movie recording,* the K-1 also provides the interval movie mode, which captures a series of 4K-resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) movie clips at a fixed interval.

Don't expect Pentax cameras have 4k since they already mentioned that they don't put video as a priority.

The K-3 also has this mode. It basically combines multiple 4K (8-megapixel) still images into a video file.

This qualifies the matter quite nicely as well as pointing out what interval 4K is. In many ways, processing 4K video from a high resolution sensor is a waste of electrons and battery capacity. Sony's A7S is probably the best example of a great 4K implementation outside of a dedicated high-end video camera. As I was reading the specs for the K-1, it occurred to me that a stripped-down version for video with a 12 Mpx sensor might well be a very good idea. While we are at it, how about a stripped-down 24 Mpx version for low noise too.

A user asks an honest question and you spout an opinion about Ricoh's video strategy. I can't blame Ricoh for that. Sorry for being cranky.
