Can anyone tell me if the grip takes AAs like the k-3 and is the battery the same as

Serial number for the k-3 battery and k-1 seem the same except for a P at the end of the number are they the same and also does the grip have an insert to take AAs

The grip, usually when bought from an authorized seller, comes with two trays. One for the regular battery and one for 6 AA batteries.

Yes the one I got for my K-3 had both I just wasn't sure if that was the case for this one good to hear thanks for replying

So if the battery is the same as K-5 and K-3 what's the significance of the P at the end of D-Li90P? Anyone know? Because the battery charger on the accessories page says "For recharging the exclusive D-LI90P battery"

Do not remember the exact specifics but believe it was a new safety feature that the instituted that caused the change to the P on the end

Thanks for the link, interesting!

Looks like both batteries will work with any 'D-Li90' camera but the newer P battery can only be charged by the newer P charger... but that in turn will charge both battery versions.
