Found a FA 20/2.8 for a reasonable price. Good for my needs, I think. And small.

A 24/2.8 A terrific lens!

A 28/2 Another good one. (Has a bit more distortion.)

A 35/2.8 Probably my favourite.

The FA24 f/2 is certainly my favorite.

Color Skpar 20mm flare/fringing example

Following up on my previous post, an example from yesterday showing flare handling and the largely absent purple fringing of the Voigtländer. Taken at f/8.0 straight into the late afternoon sun, extremely bright highlights on the water, with very minimal post-processing - just enough to lift the shadows/left side a tiny bit. I focused rather close, so already the swimmer is way behind the focus plane. The DoF scale is rather 'generous' by today's standard. Highlights which are close to the focal 'plane' show next to no fringes, further out, there is some weak red outlining. Unfortunately, I did not have the HD-DA15 with me to compare, but this looks more than adequate to me, including contrast. Using RawTherapoee's tone mapping, this cleans up nicely with just a little brightening of the trees above the reflection but overall good contrast.

(Exif incorrectly shows 50mm as I forgot to set FL).

How about a very portable solution like the discontinued CV20 SL-II? If you can get one, the corners are okay from f5.6 onwards, great for street situations (small and compact and less intimidating), f8-f13 you get a not too shabby wide angle landscape lens. Filters at 52mm is easy to find and much cheaper too. ;-)

But watch out for instances where you can get purple fringing.

In this image, I am attempting not to lift the shadows as much as LR will like to and kept it very much what I think I saw.

M28 F2! It's small, light and sharp.
If you can find one, try it

I'm going to test an almost new FA 24. Do you think 490$ is a good deal?

Yes it is, fa*24 is an awesome Lens.

Its autofocus is fast especially on k1.

Lovely bokeh for original environmental portraits.

Lovely colors!

Build like a tank!

67mm filter thread that permit use and even stacking filters because is really wider than the glass.

Bayonet hood that I think is brilliantly designed.

Miss a window in the hood for C polarising filter access though, and wish the hood was metal like on the fa*85. Also the silver finish, while leicaish pretty is prone to scratches. Like the leica!

Can't say I am very impressed by this image. Would love to see some more serious attempts by someone with this lens.

If you haven't seen the notice in another thread, Laowa has announced a 12mm rectilinear FF that will be available in K-mount. It looks a bit bulky, dimensions like a 135mm f1.8.

Really felt the need for something wider than 24mm. The widest I currently have is an A series 24-50/4. I really like the 24-50/4, but really wished it were easier to use with a hood.

So, I want ahead and purchased a Rokinon 14/2.8 from B&H. Have only had it a few days and so far, I'm not terribly impressed. In fact, it is quite a disappointment.

I'll reserve judgement for a while longer and will try to give it a better workout this weekend, including a few brick walls, if I can find any.

It's a great lens for the price, Volosoft, but you must check all lens purchases for decentreing when you receive them, especially Samyangs.

Do it while you can still return.

I can hardly claim dthe photo as a prize winner. IT's a snapshop taken out the car window as I was driving by. The subject matter deserves some explanation. It's a gold mining town
in Eastern Oregon which has had great apirations in the late 19th and early 20th century. Now it's a hear ghost town and even the rush hour traffic isn't too crowded.

Can you point me to how I'd check for decentering?
