A 3 shot pano using the K-1 and the Zeiss Makro Planar 50/2. The colours look a bit OTT but note that no colours were added.

Well that explains the cockroach then. This is not England you know, maybe you should try some soap.
After the news cycle of the past couple of days, we probably should be cautious with jibes like that.

More beastie macros;

Robber Fly.

As seen on my clothesline this morning. I actually really like these guys, so photogenic and model perfectly for the camera, epitome of an Aussie insect, relaxed and not in a hurry.

The robber flies here are equally cooperative, especially if they have caught something and are feeding. There's a big species out in the southwest that I wish I had more opportunities to photograph. It's at least 2.3cm long.

Eric,

Nice shot of a bobbin lace setup. Watching a person make that is amazing. One of the few fiber arts my wife did not get into. Between the spinning, dyeing, weaving, knitting sewing, and multiple volumes of books on each subject the some of the rooms in the house look more like a warehouse.

Had lovely spring weather in Helsinki today. Spent the whole afternoon skiing on the frozen sea off the coastline.
Bright sunshine on an open icefield creates extreme contrasts. The dynamic range of the K-1 passed the test with flying colours!

Bush Cocky.

Caught this cocky on my window, never seen the underside in such detail before. My glass/window was filthy, I spent quite a bit of time cleaning up the smudges and dust speckle particles that lit up with the flash.
Do you mean "Bush Cockroach"?
