Thanks Bobby! I am just having too much fun.
It is nice to know there are positive side effects for other people too. Heh.
Lately, I have become all too aware of backgrounds, and not just from the standpoint of not having a discarded fast food container ruining a landscape, or telephone pole sticking out of someone's head, but also from the standpoint of enhancing the subject, colors, brightness of background etc. Like the above shot, while provoking bubble bokeh, I could have shot the purple flower against a more plane green foliage background by shifting to the right, but chose to shift left instead, to get more colorful flowers in the background, so as to get the colorful bokeh and bubbles. You need some filtered light to help too, and then it goes nuts. I find even my DA *300 does nice bubbles and smooth bokeh if I open it up. The other trick is having a lens that is naturally sharp enough at least in the center with decent contrast to shoot it wide open, so you don't just get mush plus bubbles, you want the subject to pop then transition to the smooth area's. Like I said, I've been having way too much fun and probably over-thinking this, heh.

Looks like the FA 35 f2 has some similar character to the old Super Tak 35 f2... Nice wine and bokeh! I am guessing the modern coatings repress the bubbles just a little bit, making them just a little harder to provoke into a shot, but it still renders beautiful bokeh and tasteful bubbles!!!
