random shots

WOW, so many terrific photos posted by folks on the past 12 pages. Last night it took me several hours to get caught up viewing. This time of year things get a wee bit busy on the old farm typically from sun up to sun down. And although I have taken some shots I have been slow to process and missed being a part of this forum.
HoustonBob, thank you very much for posting your explicit remark, I for one certainly agree. Quite often I think of Ansel's statement that sorta said the negative is the written composition & developing the final photo is the performance. Many of the photos posted on this forum definitely represent the world in an artful form of different degrees and many of the photographers are excellent artist. As Focusrite stated this is a subject for a whole different thread, but just the same I am glad that you remarked. Also I have to say that IMHO Focusrite did a fantastic job of PP on a fantastic photo.

First 2 shots of the tiny flower among the grass & the hover fly taken with the old 645 A 120/4 macro lens.

The tennessee warbler & the brown thrasher taken with the DFA 150-450 lens.

Best Regards, Bob

Recently I stumbled on BigMackCam CCD look preset for Lr while reading this thread :
Get "that CCD look" with the K-3 / K-3II and Lightroom - PentaxForums.com

I decided to give it a try with my K1.
Quiet different from my regular "look", less saturated and with richer grey skies and some unique colors, here is a few shots using his preset, tweaked to my liking.

Thanks a lot @BigMackCam for the preset !

I recently took a trip to the state of Victoria ( Australia ). Got a few pics out of it that I rather enjoy. First pic taken with the DA 15mm SMC ( heavily cropped ), second with the Samyang 20mm, and the third with the Sammy 24mm. Taken on the coast around the 12 Apostles National Park.
Spectacular photos sir!

random yard shots

1st photo, a lucky eastern american toad that almost got chopped up by my mower before he hopped under the spruce tree. His back is covered with cuttings, taken with the 24-70 lens.
2nd photo, to show relative size, beneath the dandelions between the clover & grass are these cute little trumpet flowers, taken with the 24-70 lens.
3rd photo, close up of the flower, taken with the old 645 A 120/4 macro lens.
4th photo, a chipping sparrow preening in dreamland, looks a bit unreal, taken with the 150-450 & DA 1.4x TC.
Best Regards, Bob
