I'll remark or observe again, the K1 renders colors in a different way, at least to my eye. It's like changing color films, going from Ektachrome to Velvia. The colors look different from images taken with previous Pentax DSLR's.
What differences do you see?

Cannot put my finger upon or verbalize it. The colors seem "deeper" or "richer." Perhaps there's a difference in which colors the sensor emphasizes, as, for example, Kodachrome had wonderful blues, and Velvia made warm colors pop in soft, dim light, but tended to look carnival-like in full bright sun. In looking at K1 images posted here, I find myself thinking "wow, look at that color, it's wonderful" more often than with images taken by any of the APS-C bodies. Maybe it's psychological, but I don't think so. Look above at the graffiti posted by sculptormic. There are many similar images on the "street art" thread, but when I came to that post, again, I was struck by the quality of the colors.

I think the biggest thing to me about the K-1 versus, say a K3 is that you don't have to push the files as hard to get the same results. I feel like there are times when in order to get a K3 image there I have to push it as far as it will go, while the K-1 feels like I could push it a lot harder without looking pushed.

I think about it when I read that K-1 (and other same grade cameras) is for advanced shooters, blah-blah-blah...
K-1 feels like everything is easier, just a perfect camera for amateurs.

1st walk in the woods with the K-1

Getting to know the K-1 still, went out on our first date, so to speak. This was before Collin came to town and rained on our parade (still raining after he's passed too...grrr)

First Day with K1

These were all with the FA 35 f2, so far my only AF lens. Really enjoying the camera...

Fallen rhododendron blossoms (& pine needles) in my driveway, heading into very deep shadow along the retaining wall at the top of this image. Another quasi-test (I thought the image was interesting - not merely a test) of the Samyang 24mm TSS on the K1 FF sensor. The lens is far more comfortable on the K1 than the K3.

Another great set Frederick, you keep raising the bar... you sure got some interesting looking squirrels over there. Is that a wearsquirrel? Does he howl at the moon?

I see your wearsquirrel and raise you a shaggy little pony,

Feels that way to me. Also, when I do push adjustments like sharpness in Lightroom, the images seem to tolerate more of it without looking pushed. Not sure why, and some of it might be misperception on my part.

HI, Yes! Very! Maybe not greased lightning, but much better than before, and way way more accurate.
