A slightly different view.

Rondec, would I be able to process a pixel shift shot in LR or will I need to use something different ?
Eric, same question to you since I think you did some PS shots recently.
When I get the time I will have to look at the Pixel Shift thread and surely learn from that. Just seems to be way to busy of a summer & man the time goes by so quickly. Mighty glad this forum is here, helps take my mind off of things, sorta like a stress reducer.

Best Regards, Bob

Hi Bobby - Nice lily! With the lens I recently began to covet too... cropped much to fill the frame??? Just curious.

As to your question...My PhotoShop and ACR combo are a bit long in the tooth (CC 2015) for Pixel Shift so when I do a Pixel Shift, I switch over to DCU (which I absolutely HATE with a passion, which prolly keeps me from doing Pixel Shift more often...)
I haven't followed the current trends for what is the best alternative processing software recently for Pixel Shift, and also look forward to Vincent's reply as to what he likes, because it seems to be working quite well.
Eric
Most of it depends on the amount of motion in a scene. If I zoom in and don't see any weird artifacts in Lightroom then I just process it there. If I see some then I jump over to Raw Therapee and run it through there to clean it up and generate a 16 bit TIFF image there. Both of these shots were on a very still morning and I just ran them through Lightroom and bumped shadows and did some sharpening there. That was about it (other than cloning out a bunch of power lines in the first image.

What are you doing taking photos with that old 2016-era lens?? Don't you have a brand new D-FA* 50 f/1.4 to play with?

Hahaha !

No i'm trying to save money to offer me the 70-200 f/2.8

Thank you,

Highly recommend the Reverse ND Grad filter if you're doing a lot of sunrise/sunsets like you do. Have the Lee adapters for both the DFA 15-30 & Irix 15mm using 150mm filters, works well for both.

For some reason, they are a bit more expensive than the normal ND Grads, but in the end worth the results, IMO. Though the Lee filters work fine, the 100mm ND Grads, including the Reverse I got from Breakthrough Photography for the DFA 24-70 including their holder, are much higher quality (tempered glass) and better price. Breakthrough is starting to have some of the 150mm filters available.
