For me that is a fantastic photo. Your composition captured so much, so many different aspects or elements from the foreground and all thru the image. That is certainly a photo that I would be mighty proud to have taken.
Perhaps I am just strange but that shot really is top shelf with me.

Best Regards, Bob

Thanks for the kind words. I am glad you like the shot. When photographing scenery such as this, I think the scenery deserves most of the credit. I just captured what was already there. People have asked why the river is called the Yellowstone National Park. Now they know The colors are even more impressive at the gorge overlooks. When I was there this past May some of them were closed for repairs and upgrades and the remaining ones were more crowded as a result.. So I skipped that area this time around.

Your uncle must have some vivid memories of the night the earthquake struck. The waters in Lake Hebgen sloshed back and forth along the length of the lake for 11.5 hours after the quake struck. At first the water over topped the dam three or four times and eroded 4 feet off the top of it. Luckily the dam held or the disaster would have been much worse.

Very cool looking bokeh, well done !!

Is that the 6 blade version ?
Thanks! Mine is the 67mm filter version that all had 5 blades. Built like a tank and silky smooth focus, a joy to use. I am really surprised this lens doesn't have a larger following... it's reasonably sharp even wide open if you can manage to focus the thin DOF correctly. Stop it down and it's as sharp as most modern lenses across the frame, but with those great Tak colors and subjects that pop.

I should shut up or those dang Sony people with their adapters will start to snatch them up... that happens with a lot of good M42 lenses. Heh.

Red Deer Petroglyph

K-1 DFA 24-70
Archaeologists often speculate that many petroglyphs were originally colored in. This and some nearby ones on Perry Mesa give weight to that argument.

I think this should be called an "installation" rather than a statue.

Here's a more creative perspective on the object in the preceding picture. I think it supposed to represent something living, specifically a single cell.

It's all your fault Frederic, you got me hooked with that evil Soligor of yours waaay back when. I still have mine, but feel more like a Pentaxian when I use the Tak 35mm , and I like the little bit longer FL.
Well, your fault and LeRolls, I so very much want an FA85mm F1.4... or FA77 LTD. I WILL own one or the other some day... but I think the DFA150-400mm comes first.

Nice droplets!
