100% crop:
With such sharpness, it's almost a Macro lense !

The rendering and close up is really nice and opens lots of possibilities !

Handheld pano with the new DFA*50. This is now my all time favourite lens.
I went hiking with the K-1 and the 50. No extra camera bag, just the camera over the shoulder and a backpack with food on my back. Surprise! I didn't pull out my phone once for photos. It was easier to just use the camera and the images are so much better.
42 stitched exposures in 3 rows, f/8 and 1/60sec. Approx. 19500x12500 should be 242 MP if I calculated correctly...?
The details are impressive considering it was hand held at 1/60 to 1/100 standing on a small wobbly iron bridge built in 1880.
Exactly the way photographers should use this lens: just the camera with it for an imposed exercise of style. Besides, this combo does not prevent anybody to make pano to simulate wide angle lenses for static subjects. And why not using wide opened to produce astonished Brenizer method pictures?!
Well done.

Excellent series
And probably not all that far fetched either.

Didn’t have much money but wanted FL 70-200 and macro capability. At a photography shop the dealer said the Vivitar 2.8-4.0/70-210 Macro (2.5x magnification) would be a good choice. A step up from entry level. I guess I bought it in 1992 for my Pentax ME Super.

When I got my K-5 in 2011 I removed the Ricoh-Pin. If somebody interested I’d share some pics of the removal.

After that I could use it on the K-5. Unfortunately it doesn’t show super good performance. So I don’t use it that often. Today we have the internet and it tells me, that’s lens version 4 and unfortunately didn’t get overwhelming reputation.

Although I made some nice pictures and made prints of them.

Here are some pictures from today. At f/2.8 and f/4.0 the lens shows a nice dreamy look especially when using the "macro mode" . To get a nice look you have to do some post processing, here done with Capture One Pro …

Really... do let us all know how you get on with that.
I know some say that the key to a great caber toss...is in the back, legs, arms and technique honed after many years. To me the trick to a fine caber toss is in the wrists..I find a rapid flick of the wrists works well.......mind you I always make sure to wear steel toed boots.
