Storm over Yellowstone Lake. Taken from Lake Butte Overlook. The fire damage is from the1988 fires and this area has still not recovered much in the last 30 years.

I like the scale the image provides and the moody processing. Well done

A few from today. Turkey Vultures sunning themselves, Golden Mantled ground squirrels, Black bear.

I especially like the shot of the bear, showing it in it's environment. Well done. Also, the other shots are nice as well.

Trying some in-camera only editing with the K-1. I don't like doing without a properly calibrated screen

FA*300/4.5
Like it. Nice isolation and background.

Nicely done. Interesting foreground, middle ground, and background, with nice lighting as well. Makes me feel cold, which is nice on a hot summer day here in Arizona.

In other areas of the park the recovery has been much better. This area of the park has been slow to recover. Maybe the burn was hotter and deeper here and the soil has not recovered. The predominant pine here is called the Lodgepole pine and actually needs fire to reproduce. The pine cones need the heat from fire to open and spread their seeds.

Hi Dave....We wish !! No, its all very much self funded, each paying their own way. We have managed to stay out of the clutches of agents by booking most things ourselves,
this is my 10th trip to the SW, so have built up a bit of a budget travel plan over the years.
