Not very often I can get a wood stork to pose for me... usually I see them circling way up high in the upper air currents.

A face only a mother could love, maybe that is why they are kinda rare.

I guess there might be a bumper crop of applesnails, if that bokeh lizzard in the background doesn't finish them off...

If I didn't know any better Frederic, I'd begin to think you liked that Tamron macro and that FA 35mm a lot... and so do I !
That first flower shot and the night shots you've been taking are stellar.

I went back out in the afternoon, to try a second hand Tamron M&C 2x TC on the K-1.
My conclusion, the Pentax & Tamron 300 and F1.7x AF adapter or HD DA 1.4 TC on the K-3 gives me sharper images than the Tamron 300, Tamron 2x on the K-1. It's not that the images were bad from the Tamron 2x TC, it's that they weren't what I'm used to.

The difference between 500 and 600 isn't enough to make up for the 1.7x being much better optically than the Tamron 2x. But if you were looking for a solution that would save some money it might work out.

Nice pix both. In the second shot I'm amazed how uniform the trees are...branches very similar. In my part of western Canada we have Canadian Shield and Boreal forest nearby...you don't see such symmetrical flora out in either of those places.

Impressive looking truck, particularly considering it is a commercial vehicle and already almost 10 model years old.
Looks like it could go anywhere...probably can ...interesting looking tire tread...all terrain ?

Yep, all terrain and 4 wheel drive, needed for welding on pipeline right of way. It is a 2009, but at 145,000 miles, the 6.7 turbo diesel engine is just getting broken in!

Excellent diesel engines in the Dodge/Ram trucks...those B series Cummins inline six cylinders. Extremely durable and lot of torque. From the picture, looks like your son takes care of the truck very well.

Thank you. Pipeliners swear by the Dodge Cummins turbos. We just purchased the truck for my son from a welder who took excellent care of it. Everything appears to be in A-1 condition.
