I'd say you passed the test with flying water-colors Vincent!
Nice waterfalls, I like the first one best, with the more expansive view.

What a difference perspective makes...

This guy was so calm (and probably overheated, judging from his beak and tongue gaping. FYI, this is the same heron from the previous post panning shot as he flew by.) that I was able to walk around and shoot him from both sides of the sunlight.

I like the background bokeh balls in the first shot, from shooting more into the sun, but I had to work the shadows in PP to make it work. This shot on the other hand, I like the subject clarity better and just had to be careful not to blow the highlights of the white feathers etc. It's always some compromise, isn't it?

You did well! I wonder if you could push even lower, tried a monopod yet? A monopod can be a pleasant walking stick too, for those times you cbb with fully tripodding up. If you know your location and what the flow will be like then getting those 5 second exposures is just overkill. I wonder how low you might be able to go with a monopod if you're managing 1/5 handheld!

This should be a challenge

Tara has her points, KD, but Mrs Clackers is of course a saint for putting up with me for twenty six years!

One of the few " Street" shots, where I asked permission upfront to take it, his great reply was... "knock yourself out" as in help yersel, as we say around here.
That's a fantastic pic. It makes a big difference, getting to work with someone for a street portrait rather than candid street photography, but you now get the right angle for the geometrical display you wanted, and from so close we see all the textures.

For me it was too good of a chance to risk as a candid.
