Looks like the human wave attack gambit being played by both sides.

I was home when the Fisher/Spasky championship was played. It was broadcast live in PBS with several grand masters explaining what was going on. You could feel the anguish in Boris Spasky as Bobby Fisher just destroyed him mentally in each game.

In one game he made a weird opening move that took Spasky something like 10 minutes to reply to. Before Spasky even made his first move he was in time trouble.

Wow, though I also watched that championship on PBS it is quite difficult for me to recall much. Seems like 3 life times ago. When I saw Rondec & Hattifnatt's post Fisher and Sparsky instantly came to mind. Bobby was exciting to watch but he certainly was a strange fella. Not too long ago, maybe a year or so I saw an article on Bobby where he showed up out of nowhere as usual. Good to see some folks here have the interest.
Best Regards, Bob

Just smashing, and conclusively dispelling any black Friday remorse I might be having about the D-FA* 50 - thanks!

A few from me, handheld (lazy) D-FA 24-70 this time.

Thank you very much Frederic. I am slow but am working on getting back in to it. Love that first flower shot of yours, really cool. And I sure would enjoy eating that meal...

Chess Championship?

Looks Drawish to Me...

Both shot with the FA 135 and every one of my son's Chess games against each other does end a draw...
Rondec that is amazing. Many years ago when my brothers & I played it was rare to end a draw. My brothers typically won...of course we are talking IQ's in the 150's & 160's for them, plus they were older & bigger. But....I always beat them in tennis.

That's a nice group. Seems to me I photographed that castle from the other side. but as I was with a tour, there were no options about place or time to take picture of it.

Thank you! The western Highlands and Skye are amazing places, if the weather was a bit more guaranteed it wouldn't be the same. And yes, it would be great to have more time at these places to do all the compositions. I've been past Eilean Donan castle quite a few times, but this is the first time the weather and time of day really delivered!

Here's the 70-200 in action in Lancashire (the first one) and Skye:

Wow...what a great photograph of the vintage Renault tractor in the garage. The lighting, composition and HDR (?) work very well in this photo.

I keep saying to myself, this must be the last flutterby of the season, then the sun pokes out and I find another...
